PB20 Instructions
Frequently asked questions about the Peripage PB20.
Tips for indicator lights
- Green light is always on: normal startup / fully charged
- Blue light is always on: Bluetooth is connected
- Red light is always on: out of paper / overheated / charging
- Red light is flashing: low battery, please charge in time
Do I need to use an ink cartridge to print?
No, the PeriPage printer uses thermal printing technology. By heating the print head and contacting the thermal paper, the required pattern can be printed.
What thermal paper specifications are supported for printing?
Supports three types of printing paper: gap paper, black mark paper and continuous paper, suitable for a paper width of 2 inches (50.8 mm) or less.
Can I connect to a computer for printing?
Yes, please go to the official website (www.ileadtek.com) to download and install the computer driver, and then you can print.
What should I do if the App cannot connect to the printer?
- Please make sure the printer is turned on.
- Check whether the Bluetooth and location permissions are turned on on the phone (Note: for Android, due to system requirements, the location service must be turned on at the same time).
- Please make sure that you connect the device in the App. Note that this machine only supports pairing through the App. Do not try to connect from the system's Bluetooth settings page.
- Double-click the power button of the device to print a QR code, and then scan this QR code in the App to complete the device connection.
- Confirm whether the machine is currently connected to other devices. This device cannot be connected to multiple phones at the same time.
How to solve the problem of unclear printing content?
- Please make sure that the printer cover is closed tightly and check whether the printer has sufficient power; a cover that is not closed tightly or insufficient power may cause blurred printing.
- Please check whether the print head is dirty and wipe it with alcohol cotton or a slightly damp towel.
- You can try to set the print density to medium-high density in the print settings and print it out for comparison.
What should I do if there is an offset or misalignment problem when printing?
- Please check whether the paper type and size you loaded are consistent with those set in the App; inconsistent settings will lead to poor printing results / mismatch.
- Please refer to the PB20 manual to confirm whether the paper roll is correctly fixed by the positioner.
Why is there no content when the thermal paper is printed?
- Please make sure that the paper cover is tightly closed, and then try to press the power button twice again. If the QR code still does not print, it may be because the paper roll is installed in the wrong direction. Please reinstall the paper roll correctly.
- If the thermal paper is stored for too long, it may become damp and cannot print properly. It is recommended to replace it with a new paper roll and try again.
Can I print in color?
Not supported at the moment.
Currently, thermal technology only supports printing in blue, red, yellow, pink and other monochrome colors other than grayscale; you need to purchase corresponding thermal paper that can print in monochrome.
How to clean the print head correctly
Dirt on the print head may cause blurry printing. To ensure the best print quality, we recommend cleaning the print head after every 80 prints.
The steps are as follows:
- Make sure the printer is turned off, open the paper cover, and remove the paper roll. If you are printing before shutting down, wait a few seconds to allow the printer to cool down properly.
- Use a clean cotton swab to dip in a small amount of alcohol, or use a slightly damp cloth, to gently wipe the dirt on the surface of the print head. (Do not scratch the print head with hard objects, to avoid permanent damage to the thermal element, which cannot be repaired.)
- After cleaning the print head, do not use the printer immediately. Wait for 1 to 2 minutes to ensure that the alcohol is completely evaporated before restarting it.
Charging instructions
- 5V–2A input charging; it is recommended to use a mobile phone charger for charging.
- It is recommended to fully charge the battery when using it for the first time after purchase.
- If it is not used for a long time, please charge it every 3 months to avoid the lithium battery being naturally worn out and unable to be charged for a long time.
